Meet the friendly staff at Live Oak Animal Hospital!

  • Dr.
    Carl Clary
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Clary has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 25 years and is highly skilled at performing orthopedic surgical procedures. He is exceptional at performing knee (ACL) repairs, hemilaminectomy and ventral slot (back) surgeries, bone fracture repairs and more. His veterinary interests include orthopedic surgery, theriogenology, and internal medicine. When he is not practicing, Dr. Clary enjoys being outdoors ranching, welding, and spending quality time with his wife, Petra, and their two children, Gage and Portia.

    Eric Cunningham
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Cunningham is a proud Lubbock native who enjoys serving his community and has been practicing in Lubbock since graduating from veterinary school in 2006. He loves all aspects of veterinary medicine and excels at providing individualized care to meet your pet's specific needs. An animal science graduate and former member of the Texas Tech Red Raider baseball team, Dr. Cunningham is a fervent Red Raider and attends as many Tech sporting events as possible. Above all, he is a devoted husband and father to his wife, Averi, and their two boys Cade and Caleb.

    Shelli Wolfe
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Wolfe has been practicing in Lubbock since graduating from veterinary school at Texas A&M in 2005. Her veterinary interests include feline medicine, dentistry, internal medicine, and ultrasonography. Dr. Wolfe is very thorough in her practice of medicine and excels at working up complex cases. Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys being a wife and mother to her husband, Matt, and their two children Reese and Logan. They are avid baseball fans and enjoy attending baseball games, especially the Texas Rangers.

    Taylor Chattin
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Chattin was born in Lubbock, but grew up in the DFW area. Being a third-generation Red Raider, Texas Tech was a natural choice for him to complete his undergraduate studies at. During that time, he worked under Drs. Clary, Cunningham, and Wolfe as a technician gaining valuable experience before heading off to veterinary school at Texas A&M. After graduating in 2015, he returned to Lubbock to work alongside his mentors, this time as a colleague. Dr. Chattin's veterinary interests include general/orthopedic surgery, oncology, exotic medicine, and clinical pathology.

    Caitlin O'Neal
    Veterinarian

    Dr. O’Neal has been practicing at Live Oak since graduating from veterinary school at Texas A&M in 2017. She is originally from Dallas, but now calls Lubbock home. Her interests include preventative care and surgery – general surgery, soft tissue surgery, and hemilaminectomies. When she is not practicing, Dr. O’Neal enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, family, and her two dogs – Bentley and Guinness.

    Heather Cook
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Heather Cook was born and raised in Plano, TX. Dr. Cook's love and passion for animals started at a very young age, and she is so excited to continue her career as a veterinarian here at Live Oak. She attended Louisiana Tech University for her undergraduate degree and got her bachelor's degree in Animal Science. Dr. Cook graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in 2017. She started her career in Austin, TX and recently moved to Lubbock a year ago to be with her fiancé, Chase. Her special interests include preventative medicine, dentistry, dermatology, and surgery. Heather loves spending time with her family, friends, and her two dogs, Dixie and Maggie.

  • Chris Reznicek
    Hospital Manager
    Chris has over seven years of experience in managing high volume veterinary hospitals and keeps Live Oak running smoothly. In addition to his experience as a manager, he has had several years of experience as a veterinary technician and front desk reception making him particularly knowledgeable in the daily operations of a veterinary hospital. Chris understands what it takes to provide excellent service, and maintains the highest level of ethics and professionalism. He will address any concerns or needs you have with the utmost respect and compassion.
  • Terra Knight
    Assistant Manager

    Terra joined our Live Oak family back in 2015. She has over five years of experience in the veterinary medicine field. These days she oversees the receptionist/kennel technicians, as well as the clinic inventory and handles ordering from our many different distributors.

  • Nicole Miller
    Assistant Manager

    Nicole has been a part of our Live Oak family for the past 3 years, and we are so lucky to have her! Nicole trains and oversees the technicians. Her knowledge and passion for animals, and her radiant personality make her a treasured part of our team. Nicole also enjoys working with her own dogs and training them in dog sports, such as agility, dock diving, and nosework. Her little tribe includes 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a guinea pig.

  • Jaqueline Fabila
    Receptionist
    Jacqueline has worked with doctors Clary, Cunningham, and Wolfe for the past 12 years, and has been a part of Live Oak from the start! Ensuring the front desk is running as smoothly as possible takes skill in a hectic work environment. Outside of work Jacqueline enjoys working in her yard, attending her son's sporting events, and scrapbooking.

  • Kelsey Merimon
    Veterinary Technician

    Kelsey Merimon was born and raised in Lubbock. She is a mother of twin boys, Kanon and Krew, wife to Cameron. She has 12 years of veterinary experience as a technician, having been a Registered Veterinary Technician for 9 of those years, since 2010. She has worked at a couple clinics in Lubbock, Acres North (with the owners), also Above and Beyond, and has now been with Live Oak since August 2014.

    When she is not at work, she spends her time raising her two boys, working her Aussie boys and sheep, loving on her other animals(dogs, cats, sheep, horses), helping maintain the family farm, and when time allows, refinishing furniture. She aspires to be an entrepreneur and has plans for several small businesses in the future, and also plans to be a part of the Live Oak Family for as long as they’ll have her.

  • Federico Sanchez
    Kennel Technician
    Federico has been a part of our Live Oak family for the past 3 1/2 years, and he has one of the hardest jobs in the clinic! Federico makes sure that our hospitalized patients have food, water and a clean place to rest and recover. It can be a daunting task when the hospital is full, but he does his job with a smile, and grows fond of many of the extended stay patients. Federico enjoys playing video games and watching movies when he's not working, and has two dogs.
  • Ivette Cervantes
    Veterinary Technician

    Ivette has been part of the Live Oak family for the past three and a half years, and has worked in a veterinary setting for the last seven years. Ivette is always ready to help anywhere, or anyone she can-she truly has a heart of gold! When she’s not working Ivette loves spending time outside, and with her own pets. She also enjoys going to the movie theater, and spending time with her family and friends.

    Alyssa has been a tremendous asset to our team. She has been a technician for the past year, she is a perfectionist and makes sure everything is done efficiently and in such a loving way! She is always there to help, even in stressful times, she never says no. We are so grateful to have her here with us!

    Kim has been a part of the Live Oak family for the past year, but has worked in a veterinary setting since 2015. Kim is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet, she is always willing to help out the team! For fun she enjoys reading, hiking, and watching movies.

    Preston has been with Live Oak for the past year and a half. He is a pre-vet student at Lubbock Christian University. When Preston isn't working, he enjoys spending his free time playing guitar.

    Ashleigh has been working with large and small animals her entire life, but more recently as a veterinary technician at Live Oak for the past 2 years. She has a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science with a minor in Chemistry, from Texas Tech. She is also currently working on her Masters in Animal Science emphasizing Animal Physiology, Immunology, Behavior and Welfare. Ashleigh's ultimate dream is to become a veterinarian one day and is working towards vet school in her near future. When she is not at the clinic, she is hanging out with her two goofy Labradors, Bubba & Jenni. Or reading up on her favorite thing: avian medicine. She has an extra special love for anything with feathers, hooves, scales or fins.

    Before exploring the veterinary field, Makenna wanted to go to school to be a High School English teacher. Once she started working at Live Oak Animal Hospital, Makenna didn't believe she would have a new-found interest in veterinary medicine and be on her way to applying for vet tech school next year.  Along with her interests in vet med. and Science, she also enjoys playing the guitar, studying biology, and relaxing at home with her fur babies. She plans to apply to vet school in San Antonio next year, and eventually specialize in Veterinary Microbiology.
